Week 2 Waiver Wire

Waiver Wire Pickups

Quarterbacks

1) Aaron Rodgers – looked great in his opener, and seems to be a viable starter if need be. He is clicking very well with Greg Jennings, so pick him up if he is still available if your league.

2) Jake Delhomme - Looking pretty good as well, and will be even better once they get Steve Smith back. He could be a very good quarterback when it’s all said and done.

3) Matt Schaub – He is a good quarterback but isn’t in that great of a situation with their offensive line. Fortunately, he does have Andre Johnson and Kevin Walter, both great players.

4) Philip Rivers – He is really looking pretty good so far this year, and with the addition of Chris Chambers he looks to be a real threat. Oh, and don’t forget about Vincent Jackson and Antionio Gates. LT is a decent player too.

5) Trent Edwards – He is looking better and better and so is this offense. Between Lee Evans and the run game he will be just fine this year.

6) J.T. O’Sullivan – Very efficient quarterback in a great system with Martz pass heaving offensive approach. He will probably be dumping the ball off quite a bit to Frank Gore who can really make things happen in the open field.

7) Damon Huard – Is taking over for Brodie Croyle and is a pretty efficient quarterback. Not a bad fill in player and definitely won’t hurt you.

8) Matt Cassel – Probably the player with the most upside here, but he hasn’t started since high school, so we will see. If he clicks well with Randy Moss, he could be a top 12 quarterback in a great offense

Running Backs

1) Felix Jones – looked awesome in his NFL debut and Barber has some injured ribs that could be lingering. He will get touches each game, and if Barber goes down will be a true stud.

2) Steve Slaton – will most likely be getting the start this week for Ahman Green, who is ALWAYS hurt. Pick him up if he is available, as he will be of some value through the season.

3) Ray Rice – McGahee has a lot to prove still and Rice has looked pretty good thus far. He is going to get a few starts this year, and will get carries every game no matter what happens with McGahee.

4) Chris Perry – he didn’t look to good in the season opener, but he is the starter here, so take it for what its worth

5) Jerious Norwood – Turner looked great last week, but he will get carries every game. If Turner goes down, he will be a decent fantasy running back.

Wide Receivers

1) Eddie Royal – Tore it up last week against a premier cornerback. Cutler seems to love him, and he could be this year’s Wes Welker. He looks to be a real good player

2) Kevin Walter – I really love this guy and he is the clear starter. Andre Johnson will be drawing the double teams which will leave Walter to grab a lot of catches.

3) DeSean Jackson – great start in his NFL debut, and the eagles don’t have a whole lot of other options with Reggie Brown hurt. He will be a good fill in starter if need be.

4) Bobby Engram – Now that Burelson is out they are going to really need this guy when he comes back, which should be around week four. Grab him while you can because he will be valuable later in the year.

5) Courtney Taylor – He is the #1 now that Burleson is missing time, at least until Engram gets back. He is a viable option because he is the only option on this team.

6) Hank Baskett - He always seems to catch the big catches, but is somewhat hit or miss. If you need a WR he isn’t a horrible option.

Week 2 Trade Advice

Week 2 Trade Advice

Who To Get

Jay Cutler –he is going to be a top 7 quarterback this year, so if you can get him for cheaper than that go for it

Ben Roethilisberger – had a bad week last week, but a top 5 guy for sure.

Larry Johnson – he looks good this year and stock price isn’t too high

Steven Jackson – his value is way down right now, but he will be better than what you can get him for

Chris Johnson – he is a stud rookie that is going to have impact

Steve Smith – if you can get him for cheap because of a panicing owner that doesn’t want to go 0-2 then defeinitely pull the trigger.

Braylon Edwards – had a bad week last week, but he is the man. If his value is down get him now

Santonio Holmes – horrible week last week, but he is going to be a top 12 receiver this year, count on it

Chad Ocho Cinco – everyone and their brother is down on this guy, get him while he is dirt cheap

Tony Sheffler – he is going to be a stud this year in a good offense – get him while you can

Players to Trade

Marc Bulger – he is in a horrible situation, unload him if you have any decent offer

Carson Palmer - he is just not going to live up to his expectations, expect him to be about a 10-12 ranked quarterback at the end of the year

Laurence Maroney – he is in a timeshare, without Tom Brady, and isn’t going to perform this year, get rid of him if you can

Chris Perry – this offense just doesn’t look good, and neither does he.

Andre Hall – can’t rely on any running back from the Broncos as they have a major RBBC going on here

Selvin Young – same as above

Plaxico Burress – yes he is a great player, but his value right now is through the roof. If you can get a good deal for him, might want to jump on it

Torry Holt – this Rams offense is horrible, and his best days are definitely behind him. He looks old and washed up
